If you live in the southern states of the USA, you are eating your black-eyed peas today for good luck in 2012.
Other countries also have their traditional foods. You can read about some of them
here.
Send me a comment, telling me what your traditional foods are for celebrating the New Year.

Dear Meggie, In Turkey black eyed peas can t be found. but I tasted it. My brother always goes to USA for his business and brings us some tradidional things which we can t find them on Turkey. It is so delicious.
ReplyDeleteIn turkey, Some Islamic societies don t celebrate new year and also christmas. It is a big sin for their minds. But a lot of people celebrate new year with eating turkey. Like your thanksgiving day. We made turkey and rice. We eat them with some salads and wait 12:00 p.m. to welcome the new year..
In Scotland, shortbread!
ReplyDeleteI don't really know about Belgian traditions and less about African ones (both my originate countries). But Belgian like eating and celebrating.
ReplyDeleteAs for your comment on my blog: yes, lavendar colors are my favorite. I like to mix them with orange and other bright ones.
