"Free" is my favorite word....with "almost free" my second favorite words. If someone is giving away an old piece of furniture, my hand goes up immediately and I say, "I'll take it".
You are looking at the almost free greenhouse. In fact, if a friend had not given me the front crank-style windows, my greenhouse would not have been this large. He and his wife were remodeling their sun room with new windows. These windows would have been trashed, except for me. My truck and I carried them over a hundred miles to the farm.
The two windows by the door were old windows found in the barn.
Would you believe these two came from the falling down garage doors? Everything was thrown away except for the top row of each door that had windows in it.
Please come in and take a look. The floor is stone I salvaged from another project. I carried and set each stone in place by myself.
Today it's time to transplant the sweet aylssum to larger pots. I want them to grow another couple of weeks before I set them outside in the flower garden.
First, let's look around at a few plants that have continued to grow during the winter.
This is a surprise bloom on a succulent.
The pale pink cyclamen has decided to bloom.
It looks like this succulent has also decided to bloom in February.
The green house will be very busy in the upcoming weeks with garden seeds. I will start about 250 seeds of multiple tomato varieties, peppers, and squash.
Now, for a little pinch of mint for my tea....
