Comfort Food on the Prairie
This is probably not what you had in mind when you read the title of my today's post. The word "comfort" was my first thought in looking at this photo.
Here is the scenario leading up to the above photo.....
I saw the baby calf taking a nap near a shade tree.
His mother was grazing in the pasture not too far away.
Because I wanted a better photograph, I did this "clucking" sound to wake up the sleeping baby. (naughty me!)
Up popped the calf's head.....
He stood up, looking at me with this questioning look of, "Why are you looking at me?"
On the run....."Mama, Mama!"
Mother's are always close by when you need them.
How about a little privacy.........

ReplyDeleteHello Ms Sparrow....They acted out the "scene" just as I was hoping they would.
DeleteJust beautiful- they are such an amazing colour.
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to let you know that a pink floral envelope dropped through my letterbox at lunchtime today. I spent ages in the garden just looking at the apron through the wrapping. I felt quite tearful (in a good way) to think that it has travelled thousands of miles and that you and Elaine and Susan have all held the apron in your hands. I felt such a connection - maybe that's part of the magic.x
Dearest Scarlet...I'm so happy you feel that way. You deserve a little bit of "magic". Have fun with it!
