Friday's Fences
How about a small town rodeo? Well, it is Texas, and we do like rough riding.....and competition!
Here is where you might find yourself, if you are riding a bull or bare-back bucking horse.
I just love using the words "Sheriff's Posse". It sounds like something you might hear in a wild west movie.
On rodeo day this area is filled with cowboys, cowgirls and lots of horses.
The announcer and judges for the competition will be sitting high above the arena.
No reservations necessary....the "early-birds" will have front row seats. Just in case all seats are taken, it's always good to bring a folding lawn chair.
Water for horses only, please!
It looks like there is ample parking space today. On the next Rodeo Day, it will be filled with pickup trucks and plenty of horse trailers.
The schedule shows a rodeo in August. Watch for another serious looking fence when you turn into the Rodeo Grounds.......
See you at the Rodeo

I love this series of yours and Texwis girl!
ReplyDeleteThank you....I was beginning to think I wouldn't have time to post before Friday was over. The outside chores are taking a lot of time. I'm sure it is the same with you.
DeleteGREAT pictures, love the stormy sky! Small town rodeos are the BEST!! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Candy....I pass this arena every time I go into town to Walmart! It looks totally different when there is a rodeo for the week end. It is buzzing with activity. I guess you also have rodeos in Arizona...
DeleteYeeha! Quiet fence now, but I bet it has some stories to tell! XOXO
ReplyDeleteI just love a good rodeo! Nice pics
ReplyDeleteI was brought up on a diet of American films - rustlers, rodeos, cowboys - it was all thrilling stuff and I can easily imagine how that place would be when it is being used. Thanks for the tour, Meggie!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos of a rodeo arena! I can imagine it being full of people, horses, and bulls!
ReplyDeleteI can almost taste the atmosphere with your description! x
