Friday's Fences
Some explanation is in order for my photo......
This was taken on the farm in a pasture near the barn. The truth is, I was trying to take a photo of the baby goat. But my camera focused on the fence instead.
The fence has evolved, beginning with a barbed wire fence many years before I purchased the farm. In those first months of ownership, my neighbor just showed up one day and said he was going to stabilize some of my fencing. He installed the twisted vertical stays you see in the photo.
After several years went by, I decided I wanted to buy a pair of goats to help control weeds. That is when the wire fencing was added to the same fence posts.

haha! Your camera knew you needed a shot for Friday Fences!
ReplyDeleteI love the twists in the wire, strength and beauty. Happy accident.
ReplyDeleteNice goat photos. I love goats because they're such natural clowns.
ReplyDeleteBoth are such interesting views...love the first "out-of-focus" shot that actually shows the fence itself. It's such in interesting fence! I also love the second goat-in-focus! :-)
ReplyDeleteFirst, your blog header is just wonderful--such a beautiful county scene with those black-eyed susans (?) growing in the fence line. And glad that you got a good neighbor when you moved here.
ReplyDeleteI see in your blogroll that you read/follow "Homespun Living"? I discovered her blog a few years ago in the Artful Blogging magazine and have loved her glimpses of rural life ever since.
I love the first shot - my best photographs are always accidents!
