Friday's Fences
When there was no way to ignore the dead tree in the background, I decided to embrace it. Someone went to a great deal of time to collect, cut and size the small post to form this section of fencing.
Could this style of fencing be classified as twig fencing? Whatever the style, I think it is perfect for a ranch in Texas.

I think the picture is perfect with the dead tree, somehow it adds to the roughness of the fence, I can imagine feeling its texture.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Karen....love your post about the Tortano Bread.
DeleteThanks, Elna, for being so generous with your comments on my blog.
ReplyDeleteThat's impressive- I can imagine how much work that was!
ReplyDeletewow, that is a lot of work...wonder if they are still completing it or thought "wow, this IS a lot of work" lol...i love the old dead tree!
ReplyDeleteGoodness, that leaves me with a lot of questions! Well spotted, Meggie. I love all those pointing fingers on the old tree!
ReplyDeleteSomeone is working hard to fence themselves in!
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting fence... so glad you 'embraced' the old tree!

ReplyDeleteSome see a dead tree, others see a habitat for woodpeckers and other birds, wildlife and bugs.

Nice shot with the dead tree in the background! This is a very unique fence!
ReplyDeleteReminds me of building our walls out of stones we came across on our property in Connecticut--we seemed to "grow" some big ones!! It's interesting to imagine if this was was a tree that came down from a big storm and the owners repurposed it. Happy Friday, XOXO
ReplyDeleteDead trees in a field look so naked and vulnerable. This one has a wonderful homemade fence to stand behind.
ReplyDeleteWow that fence is way cool!
ReplyDeleteThat is a great fence and really special. Lovely photo's.
ReplyDeleteThat's an imposing fence! I wonder how long it's been ther.
ReplyDeleteIn this part of the Hill Country, I run across a number of fences in this style, usually part of an entry gate. I don't think I've seen one with a frame though.
