Do you remember the 1998 movie? It was filmed in this small Texas town that is a short drive from my home. The billboard, boasting the movie filming, towers above the ground at the towns' exit.
The movie will be featured tonight, on TV's Hallmark Channel. Click HERE to enjoy the movie trailer. You will recognize the large house and main street, where many of the scenes were filmed.
Harry Connick, Jr. walked on this very front porch...the home of Birdee Calvert (Sandra Bullock) and her mother (Gena Rowlands)
Buildings from Main Street...
Main Street, again, where the parade took place.
One of my favorite quotes from the movie:
Beginnings are scary, ending are sad
But it is what's in the middle that counts
So, when you find yourself at the beginning,
Just give hope a chance to float up
.......and it will !
Meggie Mac
I LOVE that movie. So many lessons learned and handling the sad endings is what life prepares us for. Wonder what happened to the little girl...Bernice, Bernice, XOXO
ReplyDeleteI can't tell you how many times I have played the movie...I love HEA (Happy Ever After) movies and books. Bernice is Mae Whitman and she is now 25 years old. She is still an actress.
DeleteThe Main Street photo sorta reminds me of the 1971 movie "The Last Picture Show".
ReplyDeleteI've not seen the film, but the setting looks lovely. Suzy x
ReplyDeleteI've just watched the trailer - it looks good. The house with the porch looks beautiful - makes me think of another house with a porch and those huge pillars...
ReplyDeleteLoved your post! I haven't seen the whole movie, but I have heard it's amazing. I'm a Texas girl too and knew the movie was filmed here, but I didn't know the exact place. It was so neat to see these photos. Reminds me of the many small historic towns throughout the state, all so lovely.
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed day~ Jazzmin :)
