Gothic Style Catholic Church for Inspired Sunday

The steeple appears to reach up into the heavens. The church is named after the archangel Michael.

It's a very impressive size church in a very small community of 2,000. The population is predominantly from Czech and German descendants.

The town is named in tribute to Weimar, Germany.

This is my favorite photo, showing all the details above the stained glass windows.

I hope your day is a restful one.

    1. Sometimes the angles become necessary when there are so many electrical lines running in front of a church.

  2. Impressive details. I agree with Beth -- like the various angles of the shots. Thanks for sharing it in InSPIREd Sunday.

    1. Thanks, Michelle. St Michael's Church has been there since the late 1800's.

  6. That's a nice crisp looking church - I get used to seeing them a bit worn away round the edges. Are most of the churches kept closed on your side of the pond?

    1. Yes, ii is only about 100 years old. Where I live, most churches are open during the day. Usually, I do photograph the inside....check out some of my other church posts.

  7. This is really a beautiful old church. If it weren't for all those Germans immigrants, Texas wouldn't be what it is today.
