You must admire a town that values their trees so much....
by building the road around it.
Surprisingly, there are several small towns, near where I live, that do the same thing.
It's the start of another wonderful week, dear readers.
Enjoy yourself.

Love that. There's a huge oak tree around the corner from us that has been honored with a plaque.
ReplyDeleteDon't you wonder how or who made the decision to keep all the trees...this town has more than a dozen located in the middle of the road.
DeleteHow nice of them to do that. I love trees, especially big old ones like that on your picture.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mari, for your comment today....I love looking at the trunk and branches, with their twists and turns...
DeleteI love that! We have huge old trees in the older part of town and even our new area (new builds to 20 years old area) has some that are getting to be a nice size. Unfortunately many trees were devastated by an ice storm here in Dec. 21, 2013. Many had to be replaced, removed and others are missing their tops etc. Thanks for visiting and for your kind comment on my painted barstools.

ReplyDeleteIt just does my heart good to see them preserved and honored by making the road go around....but, you do need to be mindful of your driving.
DeleteThat is so great!
ReplyDeleteI had a feeling you would like this photo...
DeleteThat is so neat. I love big trees like that.
ReplyDeleteI love them too !! Thanks for taking a look at today's post.
DeleteSaving a tree yeah!! :)
ReplyDeleteAfter reading your post about the trees losing their foliage, I knew this would be close to your heart !
DeleteI have seen a few trees, but had a small cemetery near where I grew up in the middle.
ReplyDeleteI think my area is known for it's very large and old oak trees. They are so inspiring when you photograph them.
DeleteThat would have been a great tree to build a tree house around!!
ReplyDeleteHi Susan...would you believe I now have one in the backyard, of my new "old" home...it's a very large pecan tree that will probably soon have a swing on it !
DeleteI love that too - we were just commenting the other day on places where that has happened in Scotland.
ReplyDeleteI live in a town that is well known for having beautiful trees but none in the middle of a road like that. That is just so cool.
