Sunshine and plenty of rain,
has given me a basket of greens.
The surprise comes from the fact that....
this small kitchen garden
was only planted at the end of July,
when I first moved to the bungalow.
One of the wonderful things about buying an older home,
can be the surprises that pop up in the garden beds.
See the lily shoots that have sprung-up,
under the newly transplanted rose bush?
Apparently the owner before me,
planted a few bulbs behind the studio.
I love surprises like that......
especially on a Monday.

DeleteThe lettuce looks like spring!
ReplyDeleteI know....but, I actually cut it early this morning. I even have some spinach growing.
DeleteIt will be interesting to see what else appears! And oh, way to go on your kitchen garden!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Rose....As soon as the blooms appear, I will be posting the photo.
DeleteIt looks so tasty!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd, it is certified organic by me.....
DeleteI planted a lot of winter vegetables in September (I usually put them in much earlier in Spring), and we have been eating the results for several weeks already. Sometimes even my own veg garden surprises me.
ReplyDeleteI just love surprises! Next year, I hope to have a small greenhouse so we can continue to enjoy fresh greens. XOXO
